Brendo all set for Rally of Whangarei

After today's Shakedown session, ahead of this weekend's Rally of Whangarei, Brendo is all set for another attack on the New Zealand roads that he enjoyed so much last year.

Brendo and Glen completed two runs of the Shakedown stage and were very happy with the performance of the car.

"The car felt really good," Brendo said,  "and I am looking forward to getting to the start line tomorrow. Hopefully we can take full advantage of our road position and set some really competitive times."

Brendo and Glen will start as Car 9 on the road - an ideal position as those ahead of them will be forced to sweep the loose stones from the surface.  The morning stages of the rally will be crucial and should benefit those a little further down the starting order, but once the stages are re-run in the afternoon, the roads will have been swept and should provide a more even playing field.

The Rally of Whangarei is a round of both the Asia Pacific and the New Zealand Rally Championships, and Brendo is keen to have another opportunity to compete against the region's best drivers and gain more experience ahead of the Pirelli Star Driver shootout (Asia Pacific region) at Repco Rally Australia in September.
